Intro

Hey everyone, it’s Tom here with webb.com, and we’re all having a fantastic day. Today, get paid $ for every YouTube video you watch, earn $ every minute just for watching YouTube ads. These viral side hustle videos are all over YouTube right now, and they claim you can earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars just by watching YouTube videos in your spare time. But is this side hustle legit, or is it a scam that’s too good to be true?

Welcome back to another episode of Scam or Legit, where I put viral side hustle ideas to the test. Now, in this one, I’m actually reviewing two super popular viral videos right now that claim you can make money by watching YouTube videos. In this video, I’m sharing some massive red flags you have to watch out for, as well as some actually legit and good ways to potentially make money by watching YouTube videos in your spare time. You don’t want to miss it! Let’s get to it.

How This Side Hustle Works

Introduction to the Side Hustle

Let me just start off by introducing this whole side hustle idea and how this “get paid to watch YouTube” side hustle even works. Now, I’ve actually covered similar ideas on this channel, like how to watch TikTok videos for money or how to watch Google ads for money. This YouTube one is pretty similar.

The First Video: Cash Proo

The first video that caught my attention is a video from a channel called Cash Proo, and it’s titled Earn $ per YouTube ad watched. Now, this video really caught my eye because obviously, earning a buck for every YouTube ad or video you watch could rack up to some pretty sweet passive income. So, in this video, Cash Pro explains that you can use a new website called Swash to begin earning just by watching YouTube videos.

Swash is a new Chrome extension and reward site with over 100,000 members, and it says you can earn real cash, crypto, and free gift cards just by watching ads and surfing the web. Now, this sounds like a pretty sweet passive income app—it’s right up my alley! So, I actually downloaded Swash and used it for about 4 days, and I’ll share exactly how much I made and how it all works.

My Earnings

Getting Started with Swash

Right, so getting started, I just headed over to Swash and I downloaded its free Chrome extension. Once you download the Chrome extension, you create your account with your email address. You then verify your email and can begin earning in a few different ways. But really, the first and most interesting earning method Swash offers is that it pays you just for browsing the web and surfing the web like you normally do.

How Swash Works

Swash has this interesting feature where you can turn on additional ads that pop up as you browse the web. The more ads you see, the more you supposedly make. I’ll show you guys right now what a Swash ad looks like. As you can see, I’m browsing the web and you see these kinds of ads pop up from Swash, where it says you’ll see ads from their advertising partners or just, you know, different ads that they’re running in their network. Supposedly, these pay you with passive income.

Now, in his video, Cash Pro explains that you can earn passive income at $1 per YouTube video or ad that you watch.

My Earnings After Testing

Anyways, I ran Swash on my computer for 4 days in total. Now, you earn Swash tokens as you see these ads and browse the web, although it takes about 24 hours for the earnings to actually appear in your dashboard, so just keep this in mind.

After running this thing for several days, I earned a total of 5 Swash tokens, as you can see in my account. So, again, this is after 4 days or so of running the application. I didn’t use my computer that much, but I used it a few hours per day. How much is this ultimately worth? Well, at the time of me making this video, 1 Swash token is worth about $0.004, and this means that my earnings are worth about $0.02, which is a couple of pennies per day.

Swash Token Decline

Just looking at the graph for Swash, you can see its price has been going down pretty much ever since the token launched. So, really, you’re looking at a couple of pennies per day worth of Swash tokens as you surf the web and see a bunch of ads.

Is This Worth It?

I will say Swash also has a lot of different options for earning that aren’t passive, and it isn’t just about surfing the web. For example, the platform lets you earn by playing cash games, answering surveys, checking out casino apps, looking at cashback bonuses, signing up for free trials, and having some crypto offers.

It’s kind of like a GPT site mixed with a data collection website, which is pretty cool on the surface. Although, I will say after looking at their offer wall, I don’t think it’s better than using something like FreeCash or Swagbucks, which I’ve covered on this channel.

The main issue at least for me in testing out Swash is that I earned like 5 cents after 4 days of using it. It cluttered my screen with ads. It’s really not earning that $1 per YouTube ad you watch, like Cash Pro videos claim. But honestly, guys, this isn’t even the main downside, because maybe you do want to earn a couple pennies per day just for running the application in the background of your computer. But there are some red flags, so let me get to them right now.

Massive Red Flags

Cash Pro’s Video Is Misleading

Not too surprisingly, I’ve reviewed a few of their different videos and side hustle ideas at this point, and it seems like it is pretty misleading once again. But really, one of the main red flags I noticed about Swash is that the cashing-out process isn’t that simple.

Withdrawal Process

According to their FAQ, to cash out, you need to have at least 50 Swash tokens in your wallet and use the latest version of Swash for at least a month. This is kind of lackluster because you have to use it for at least 30 days, and then cash out. This is assuming they don’t change the version, so you have to restart all over again. But the company also says that earnings from its offer wall can take up to 30 days to pay out, so you might be waiting months to actually get paid if you decide to do some of the more active offers and not just run Swash in the background of your device.

Data Collection Concerns

On top of that, I’m pretty uncomfortable with how much data this extension really collects. Now, again, I’m a guy who’s done phone farming, I’ve used data collection apps for years at this point, but I always run them on a spare device. I don’t really like running them on my main phone or main laptop.

In this case, I’m pretty uncomfortable with using Swash. If you scroll through its privacy policy, it collects everything while it’s active. I mean, audio, what you search for, websites you visit, your follow and unfollow actions on social media, what you click and watch. This thing is collecting so much data, and it’s only paying you a couple pennies per day, more or less. Ultimately, I think it’s not worth using if you’re just going to surf the web to try and earn.

Better Alternative

Jump Task: A Better Way to Earn

Guys, I don’t like to end the scam or legit episodes on a negative note and just say it’s a scam. So, I want to share a better alternative you can use to potentially make some money while watching YouTube videos.

I actually saw this idea in a second video from Daniel Hustles, and it’s basically another way you can get paid to watch TikTok ads and YouTube ads in your spare time. The idea in this video is to sign up for a new rewards website called Jump Task, which has a bunch of unique options to earn, including watching videos.

How Jump Task Works

All you have to do is visit Jump Task and sign up for free with your email. From there, you can begin earning Jump tokens, the platform’s cryptocurrency, by completing different tasks on its offer wall.

Jump Task is a pretty standard GPT site in a lot of ways. You can make money by answering surveys, downloading fun mobile games, shopping online, and signing up for free trials. That said, Jump Task has a very unique section on its offer wall that I haven’t really seen on other GPT sites before.

For example, you can get paid to upvote things on Reddit or Quora, or even search for things on Google. What’s super unique is that it actually has a Watch and Earn section where you can make money by watching YouTube videos.

My Experience with Jump Task

So, I tested this out. I watched several videos on my laptop and indeed, Jump Task paid me with some Jump tokens. Now, here’s the thing: you’re probably earning like a fraction of a penny to a couple of pennies per YouTube video you watch. So, again, this isn’t even close to that $1 claim a lot of these side hustle videos have out there.

In his video, Daniel Hustles claims $2 per video in his thumbnail and YouTube title. So again, his video is kind of misleading. You’re really not making more than a few pennies here per video that you watch. That said, this earning option does pay with Jump Task, and Jump Task has lots of other ways to earn too, so it’s actually a pretty decent GPT site at least in my experience.

Bonus Features of Jump Task

I also have a little over two Jump tokens in my account right now from answering some surveys and watching some videos, and it’s worth about $0.20 at the time of making this video. What’s also cool about Jump Task is that it has some more crypto flavors to it than just your regular GPT site. For example, you can stake your Jump tokens and earn up to 10% APR, which is a pretty cool passive income opportunity.

Jump Task actually works in partnership with Honeygain, a very popular bandwidth-sharing application, so you can actually use Honeygain and cash out with Jump tokens instead of PayPal.

Conclusion

So, guys, what is the scam or legit score for this one? Well, after testing out Swash for 4 days and looking at these two different YouTube videos, I’m going to give this one 1 out of 5. In my opinion, videos like Cash Pro’s video are extremely misleading, and I really don’t think Swash is worth using, especially because of how much data it collects and all of the ads it puts on your screen.

Websites like Jump Task are more promising, so if you like GPT sites and you want a bit of a crypto flavor, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Final Thoughts

Really, I think this video highlights once again that if you see some claim out there that sounds way too good to be true, like making $1 per YouTube video you watch, it’s probably too good to be true. But the good news is there are still tons of legit and realistic ways you can earn passive income. I’ll actually be linking my ultimate passive income guide down below from webbmonkey.com, and it has over 100 different ideas you can check out to actually earn passive income—not just watching YouTube videos all day.

Anyways, guys, that does it for this one. Thank you so much for watching! I hope you have enjoyed, and as always, don’t forget to check out webbmonkey.com for more unique ways to make and save money. Catch you guys in the next one.
