Official Stable Update for Android 15

Official Stable Update for Android 15

The official stable update for Android 15 has been released, and it’s a fantastic development related to Google.

Update Rollout

This stable update was available around the 15th-16th, and since the rollout, I’ve installed it and have been using it for a couple of days.

Experience Overview

Now, let me give you a spoiler alert: this A15 update is somewhat similar to the A14.1 or A14.2 updates. However, I did find some features quite appealing.

Layout Changes

As before, the layout remains the same for both the lock screen and home screen. You won’t see any major changes, including in the toggles.

Volume Control Enhancements

However, one thing they’ve changed is the volume controls. If you check the volume controls now, they appear as thick bars instead of lines. When you go to “More,” you can adjust the volume smoothly and see exactly how much you’re lowering it.

Audio Source Selection

There’s also a feature for audio source selection. If you click on it, you can choose which connected device you want the audio to shift to, like Bluetooth earphones.

New Feature: Private Space

A very nice new feature is called Private Space. To enable it, you need to go into your phone settings, then navigate to Security & Privacy, where you’ll find the option to set it up.

Managing Apps in Private Space

Once enabled, Private Space will appear at the bottom of your app tray. When you click on it, it will ask for a password, and after entering it, you’ll see various options. You can install apps here, and any photos taken with the camera will be saved directly in Private Space, not in your main phone.

App Archive Feature

The app archive feature has also been introduced, similar to what we see in other systems. Your app data will always remain saved in the phone, and the app will just be removed.

Split-Screen Multitasking Improvements

There’s also a new feature for split-screen multitasking. You can easily switch between apps and even add pairs of apps to your home screen for quick access.

Screen Saver Options

A home screen screen saver feature is now available in settings under display. When you dock or charge your phone, it can display various screensavers like colorful patterns or clocks.

Wallpaper Editor and Screenshot UI Update

The wallpaper editor has many settings you can adjust, and the screenshot UI has also been slightly updated.

Adaptive Vibrations for Enhanced Experience

An innovative feature called adaptive vibrations has been added. If your phone is on a soft surface, it vibrates more strongly, whereas it vibrates less when on a desk.

Google Protection Feature

The Google protection feature is also included. If someone tries to steal your phone, it can automatically detect this and lock itself.

Automatic Bluetooth Enable Feature

There’s an automatic Bluetooth enable feature that allows your Bluetooth to turn back on after being disabled for a day.

Screen Recording Updates

Screen recording now includes the option to record a single app without showing notifications, providing better privacy.

Conclusion: Overall Experience with the Update

Some people say it feels like an A14.1 or A14.2 update, but I found it quite impressive. It feels like a close-to-stock experience, and overall, I’m enjoying the new features!
