Intro
Hey everyone, it’s Tom here with thisonlineworld.com. I hope you’re all having a fantastic day today. So unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably heard about ChatGPT. This AI chatbot from OpenAI has taken the world by storm. I mean, it’s gained its first million users within five days of launching, and it already has content creators and people asking if it’s the end of Google or the future of AI. So, there’s a lot of noise on social media, and you know everyone’s talking about ChatGPT right now. But really, the question is, how revolutionary is ChatGPT, and more importantly, can you actually make money with ChatGPT as a content creator these days?
In this video, I’m covering six different online business ideas or side hustles where you can potentially make some serious money by using ChatGPT. If you want to get ahead of the potential AI revolution and make some money in the process, this is definitely the video for you. Some of the ideas might surprise you or might be a bit different than some of the ideas you’ve heard so far, so make sure you watch this one until the end. Let’s get to it. Alright, so right now…
ChatGPT Programming
Freelancer Marketplace Pitfalls
If you watch videos on how to make money with ChatGPT, a lot of people are excited because they think that with ChatGPT, you can basically create an account on a freelancer marketplace like Fiverr or Upwork, get ChatGPT to do all of the work for you, and then sell that service to people and make a ton of money without really doing any work. But honestly, in my opinion, this is terrible advice because pretty much everyone’s going to try this right now. A lot of freelancer marketplaces and content mills are going to get flooded with AI content, and so people are going to stop paying for this service. It’s going to become very competitive—it’s already quite competitive as it is—and why would someone pay you for AI-written content or content that’s not that great when they can just use ChatGPT themselves to make that content?
ChatGPT as a Programming Tool
But really, writing isn’t the only thing ChatGPT can do, and that’s where this first kind of money-making idea comes into play. Because while it might surprise you, you can actually use ChatGPT to write code. So let me just give you an example. Let’s say you have an online business or a blog or some website, and you have content on the website, but you might want to add some web elements to that content to make it better for users. Well, even if you don’t know how to program, ChatGPT can actually make a lot of really exciting web elements for you. I’m going to show you an example on my blog right now.
So here’s an example: let’s say I go to my blog and I have a page on investing, and I want to make a dividend interest calculator with ChatGPT that I can plug into my blog posts to get people to interact more with my content. All I have to do is go over to ChatGPT, ask it to make this dividend income calculator, and it gives me the HTML code right there. I can plug that into my blog post. So, you can see it’s nothing too complicated. It’s not an amazing calculator. You could tweak the HTML a bit, or you can ask ChatGPT for some more renditions of it to make it a little bit nicer. But even without programming knowledge (like I don’t know any HTML), you now have a calculator or web tool you can put into your content to make that content much better and to stand out from the competition. And this is just a very basic example. ChatGPT actually has a lot of programming uses. I found a really cool thread on Twitter that I’m going to show you guys on the screen as well that covers, like, different uses for ChatGPT in programming. So, if you’re an existing coder, you can use ChatGPT to just supplement your workflows and accomplish projects much faster. If you’re new to coding or you have no experience, you can use it to build elements for your website. So, very, very cool to think about ChatGPT as a programming tool and not just a content writing tool.
Create Books
Writing Children’s Books with ChatGPT
The second idea you can use to potentially make money with ChatGPT is to use it to write books. One really cool idea with ChatGPT that I saw some other content creators talking about is the idea of using it to write children’s books because the text can be a lot simpler. You don’t need really amazing AI content to write a pretty compelling children’s story. And again, ChatGPT can basically do all of the work for you. I’ll show you an example. So, let’s say you come up with a story about kids playing on a beach—some story about, you know, kids exploring and building sandcastles, or some generic story. You can basically use ChatGPT to write the script for you or at least write an outline for you and then maybe tweak a few sentences here or there. So you have your content. You can then take care of the images using AI by using DALL·E, which is another AI tool that OpenAI has created. All you have to do in this example is go to DALL·E, create a free account, and you can actually tell it to create AI art for the pages of your book. You can say, “Make a picture of kids playing on the beach using AI,” and “I want it to look in this style like a Robert Munch book,” or “I want it to look like this kind of painting style,” and it will actually produce unique AI art for you completely for free. So, ChatGPT handles your content, DALL·E handles your images, and then you can basically package it and put it on Amazon Kindle for a very low amount of money or for free if you do all of the work yourself. And next thing you know, you have a book that is available for purchase. So, again, you might have to tweak some of the artwork. You have to tweak the text a little bit, but most of the work can be handled by using ChatGPT and DALL·E.
