Ideas To Avoid
Popular Business Models That May Not Work
I see a lot of videos actually on how to make $10K a month from YouTubers like Iman Godzi or Nathan Nazareth. In these videos, while they’re great, these guys usually mention things like dropshipping or starting an SMMA agency. Now, these are cool business models and all, but honestly, I don’t think they’re a very good idea to make $10K a month because:
- They’re kind of risky because you have to invest a lot of money upfront.
- I think they’re immensely saturated and very, very hard to pull off.
I’ve never been a fan of dropshipping in the past because more people lose money from ads than they actually do succeed. When you’re trying to increase your income or start a new side hustle, I think the last thing you want to be doing is spending tons of money on proof of concepts or paid ads or trying to get an e-commerce store off the ground with something like dropshipping.
So, definitely not great business models in my opinion. And this is why I absolutely love this first idea on how to make ten thousand dollars a month.
Start a Print-on-Demand Store with an AI Twist
Why Print-on-Demand Is an Exciting Opportunity
Print-on-demand businesses aren’t anything new, and I’ve talked about them on this channel before. You’ve probably heard about them if you’ve looked into ways to make extra money, but what’s incredibly exciting about print-on-demand right now is that so many people are starting it for the first time and making a lot of money thanks to the rise of AI tools.
That’s right! People are making crazy money right now by using AI tools to create unique designs for the print-on-demand stores and then just selling their products on somewhere like Etsy.
How to Get Started
Here’s a very simple example of how you can get started today:
- For your graphics, you can use free AI tools like MidJourney to create really cool and unique designs for print-on-demand products like stickers, mugs, shirts—you name it.
- You then take those designs, work on the mock-ups a little bit, and you can then use a print-on-demand provider like Printify to actually upload those unique designs to a bunch of different products.
- From there, simply list those products on a marketplace like Etsy or maybe your own Shopify store, and there you have it! You now have a print-on-demand business that you started for essentially no cost other than maybe your Etsy listing fee (which is $0.20 per product) or your Shopify monthly fee.
Example of Success
I want to highlight MidJourney here because it’s legitimately a free Discord bot you can use to generate some insanely cool AI artwork. You can actually use that to sell on your print-on-demand store. This business model certainly has $10K-a-month potential or even more.
A really cool example I found online is a YouTuber named Alex Sheffy, who started his own Etsy print-on-demand shop in November. He made over $7,000 in sales in just a few months using custom print-on-demand product tactics and AI artwork.
Online Reselling
How Reselling Can Be Profitable
The second business model you can use to make $10,000 a month or more is to get into online reselling. The idea here is pretty simple: it involves purchasing very popular products when you find them on sale and then reselling those products online at a slight markup to make some profit.
I know this business model can make $10K a month or more because I actually interviewed a really cool couple who are making over a million dollars through their Amazon Retail Arbitrage business. Their names are Nate and Alicia. They purchase products like clothing and beauty products when they’re on sale at stores like Walmart and Kohl’s and then resell those products using Amazon FBA.
A Real Example
When I interviewed them, they had done over a million dollars in sales, and that was a few years ago. They’re basically clearing $10K a month in revenue and even with a 20% to 30% profit margin, they’re hitting $10K a month profit.
You can do this on other marketplaces as well. I have friends who sell thrifted clothing on Facebook Marketplace, Depop, or Poshmark. Another one of my friends has a successful eBay store, where he sells vintage memorabilia and makes a few thousand dollars a month.
Blogging & YouTube
Making Money Through Content Creation
The third idea to make $10,000 a month is to make money with YouTube or blogging. There’s no way I could make a video on making $10K a month without mentioning these two because YouTube and blogging are pretty much my main income sources these days.
Collectively, my blog and YouTube channel make about $8K to $12K per month right now, just between affiliate income and display ads on the site. Traffic levels determine how much it makes if people are converting or not, so it’s a bit variable. But I mean, blogging and YouTube have definitely passed the $10K per month mark for me for quite some time now.
How to Start
You might be thinking, doesn’t it take forever or doesn’t it take years to make this type of income with a blog or YouTube channel? The answer is probably yes for most people. However, I still think it’s very possible and realistic to start some sort of niche blog or niche YouTube channel and make some pretty good money in a very short amount of time.
Starting a Service-Based Business
The Power of Service-Based Income
The fourth idea to make $10,000 a month is to start a service-based business of some sort. Basically, the idea is simple: figure out a service you can offer to people, either door-to-door or online in your city, then get enough customers to make $10,000 a month.
There are so many examples of service-based businesses with great revenue potential. Whether it’s cleaning businesses, dog walking, grooming, landscaping, window washing, catering, or painting, many of these gigs can easily pay $20 to $50 an hour or several hundred dollars for completing a single gig.
Examples of Service-Based Success
For instance, a guy named Ryan makes over $100,000 per year by walking dogs in New York City through Rover and Wag. He manages 20-30 walks per week and does dog-sitting and other services, making six figures from that.
Moonlighting
Combining Your Job with Freelancing
The fifth and final idea to make $10,000 a month is to have a combination of your full-time job and moonlighting or freelancing when you’re off work at night. I’m really surprised a lot of videos on making $10K a month don’t talk about the value of moonlighting. I mean, this is how I first hit $10K a month. I had a day job at an advertising agency and then I was freelance writing on the side after work for a bunch of clients.
Eventually, my freelance writing hit about $3,000 to $4,000 a month, and at that point, I was comfortably making about $10,000 Canadian a month.
Why Moonlighting Works
There are so many ways you could do this: programming, paid ads, web design, email marketing, or virtual assisting. There are lots of lucrative ways to make money online as a freelancer if you know how to sell your skills and market yourself.
Getting Started
Anyways, guys, that does it for my five favorite ways to make $10,000 a month. Moving forward, I just want to wrap up by saying these ideas are great, and they’re fairly low-risk. They don’t involve much monetary investment, but you do have to put in the time and the effort.
I mean, in my first year of blogging, I made $100 bucks. I felt like I should quit at some point. I kept sticking with it, and then, a couple of years down the road, This Online World was making well over $10,000 per month.
These ideas have really great income potential, but again, you have to put in the work and stick with it. You might be surprised at where you end up even six months or a year down the line.
